MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING – December 14, 2009 5:00 PM
Selectmen Present: Eric R. Munson, Jr., Steven DellaGiustina and Thomas Paine
Also Present: Valerie Nickerson- Bird, Conservation Commission Member
Wayne Carr, Superintendent of the Department of Public Works
Board of Selectmen received a resignation letter from Valerie Nickerson-Bird as a member of the Conservation Commission. The board has asked Valerie to come and speak with them at their next meeting. Valerie was receiving unnecessary phone calls and communications. All questions need to be directed at a Conservation Commission meeting. Conservation meets every last Thursday of the month, unless it falls on a holiday which then they meet the following Thursday. Two members of the Conservation Commission are also property owners in WPOA and should abstain from voting on WPOA items. Additional committee members are needed.
Valerie will be inspecting the Kitchen at Tunxis Club and the board will need to issue Tunxis a food serve permit.
The Board of Selectmen has scheduled an All Boards/Employees meeting on Monday, January 25th. This meeting Attendance is mandatory. An ethics test must be taken by anyone who works for the town in any capacity.
Wayne was asked to leave the Tolland’s bulldozer on the current Public Safety Complex location. Authorization was given to Robert Littlefield and/or Eric R. Munson, III to volunteer their time to grade/level the property.
Received a letter from Jessica Kelmelis, asking if Tolland’s Transfer Station will be offering a way to appropriately dispose of Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs.
